A LULLABY FOR VUK UNKNOWN

A NOTE BY THE DRAMATIST
They were young and hopeful, since hope was the only thing they had. One event changed their lives forever. Guilt remained. Is it forced on them, can it be split, does it exist?

BOJANA MIJOVIĆ
Bojana Mijović was born in Nikšić in 1978. She graduated from the Department of Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Cetinje in 2012. In 2011, Bojana won the annual Award of Montenegrin Universities. Produced plays: Pink Panther Strikes again (City Theatre, Podgorica, 2010), The Weasels (Montenegrin National Theatre, Podgorica, 2011), The Cricket and Ants (Youth Theatre, Novi Sad, 2012). Drama The Weasels was included into the Catalogue of the European Theatre Convention in 2012. She works as an associate in Dramaturgy course in the study program of Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Cetinje. 

KSENIJA POPOVIĆ
Ksenija Popović is the first female novelist in Montenegro; she is the author of two novels A Boy from the Water and The Lullaby for Vuk Nobody. She was born in Podgorica in 1977 and grew up in Italy and the USA. She graduated from two departments at the Milan Catholic University: English Language and Literature and Spanish Language and Literature. At the beginning of 1990s, she started publishing as a columnist for The Pobjeda Daily. Ksenija was engaged for a short time as a reporter on Channel IN. In 2006, she became the First Secretary in the Embassy of Serbia and Montenegro to Madrid. After proclamation of Montenegro’s independence, she became a diplomat in Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, she is engaged as the First Secretary in the Embassy to Rome. She wrote A Boy from the Water when she was eighteen, but she published it only in 2004 by Narodna Knjiga from Belgrade and The Vijesti from Podgorica. Nova Knjiga Publishing from Podgorica published the second edition the same year. A Boy from the Water won “On Isidora’s Paths” Award as best novel by female author; it was a best-selling novel in Montenegro in 2004. Montenegrin director, Marija Perović, made a film Watch Me after the motifs from the novel. Ksenija Popović was a part of the editorial team of the Nova Knjiga Publishing that issued a monograph Montenegro – The Land of Legends in 2007; the same year, she published Grammar of the Italian Language. In addition, she is the author of The Unfinished Sentence blog. Ksenija published The Lullaby for Vuk Nobody in 2012.
