PREMIERE OF GIACOMO PUCCINI’S TOSCA ON THE MAIN STAGE, 2ND APRIL

Tosca, an opera by Giacomo Puccini, directed by Dejan Prošev, a stage director from Skopje, under the baton of Ana Zorana Brajović, will premiere on the Main Stage on Wednesday, 2nd April.

Mrs. Jasmina Trumbetaš Petrović, who will celebrate 20th anniversary of her career on the occasion, will interpret the title role in this opera masterpiece.
Libretto for Tosca was written by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on the Victorien Sardou’s dramatic play of the same title.
The role of a celebrated singer Floria Tosca will also be interpreted by Suzana Šuvaković Savić and Ana Rupčić Petrović.
The cast: Dušan Plazinić/ Janko Sinadinović/ Dejan Maksimović (Cavaradossi), Boris Trajanov k.g/ Miodrag. D. Jovanović/ Aleksandar Stamatović (Scarpia), Pavle Žarkov/ Mihailo Šljivić (a Sacristan), Danilo Stošić/ Igor Matvejev/ Darko Đorđević (Spoletta),Vuk Matić/ Aleksandar Pantelić/ Aleksandar Stamatović/ Strahinja Đokić (Angelotti), Mihailo Šljivić/ Aleksandar Pantelić/ Pavle Žarkov (Sciarrone), Ivanka Raković Krstonošić/ Jovana Čurović/ Jovana Belić (a Shepherd Boy) and Strahinja Đokić/ Mihailo Šljivić (a Jailer).
The Orchestra and Choir of the National Theatre’s Opera Company take part in the performance.
The production team: Đorđe Stanković (Assistant Conductor), Ana Grigorović (Assistant Director), Miraš Vuksanović (Set Designer), Jasna Saramandić (Assistant Set Designer) and Katarina Grčić (Costume Designer).
Tosca, an opera in three acts, was performed for the first time in the Teatro Constanzi in Rome on 14th January 1900.
The first Serbian performance of Tosca took place on the Main Stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade on 10th January 1914.
