The soloist of the National Theatre Ballet, Jana Zimonjić, won third place at the 15 th International Ballet Competition in Moscow.

The young soloist of the National Theatre Ballet in Belgrade, Jana Zimonjić, won third place in the
grand finale of the 15 th International Ballet Competition in Moscow.

One of the world’s most prestigious ballet competitions, dedicated this year to the legendary Russian
ballet master Yuri Grigorovich, was held from June 25 to July 5, organized by Rosconcert and under
the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

A special exclusivity of this competition lies in the fact that it is held only once every four years,
further confirming its high artistic status.

Zimonjić achieved her excellent ranking and bronze medal in exceptionally strong competition among
272 candidates from around the world.

On the stage of the famous Bolshoi Theatre, she performed demanding variations from the classical
ballet repertoire, as well as contemporary dance choreographies by Miloš Isailović.

This young ballet artist, whose career is rapidly rising, confirmed her high quality this spring as well,
with her exceptional technical confidence and stage maturity, when she won the prestigious
“Terpsichore” award for the role of Swanilda in Coppélia. It is one of the most significant recognitions
in the field of dance art in Serbia, awarded by the Association of Professional Ballet Dancers,
Choreographers, and Ballet Pedagogues of Serbia.

Jana Zimonjić was born in 2004 in Belgrade, where she completed the Lujo Davičo Ballet School,
after which she graduated from the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera.

On the stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade, besides Coppélia, she also performs in Don Quixote,
La Bayadère, Giselle, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, The Nutcracker, Who’s Singing Over There, Banović
Strahinja...
