Preparations for the Premiere of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" are Underway, Director Jagoš Marković Gave the Lead Roles to Nebojša Dugalić and Nataša Ninković

Rehearsals of the play "Macbeth", based on the text by William Shakespeare, directed by Jagoš Marković, are in full swing at the National Theatre in Belgrade, and the premiere is planned for the National Theatre Day, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.

The lead roles were given to the big names of the Serbian theatre, the premier stage actor and actress of the National Theatre Drama - Nebojša Dugalić (Macbeth) and Nataša Ninković (Lady Macbeth).

The cast, a true combination of experience and youth, includes Aleksandar Srećković (Banquo), Radmila Živković, Aleksandra Nikolić, Ivana Šćepanović (Witches), Branislav Lečić (Duncan), Vučić Perović (Malcolm), Petar Strugar (Lennox), Danilo Lončarević (Ross), Jovan Jovanović (Macduff), Ognjen Malušić (Donalbain), Nemanja Stamatović (Sewer/ First Murderer/ Seyton), Bogdan Bogdanović (Second Murderer) and Dragan Sekulić (Servant).

Director Marković will also be in charge of the music selection, Molina Udovički Fotez is the dramaturge, set designer is Matija Vučićević, Lana Cvijanović is the costume designer, while Ljiljana Mrkić Popović is in charge of the stage speech.

The last premiere of "Macbeth" at the National Theatre took place on June 27, 1975, directed by Arsenije Jovanović, with Branislav Ciga Jerinić and Ksenija Jovanović in the lead roles.
